Whispers From The Streets
A presentational play
by Damian Torres-Botello and Jeremy M. Lillig
Go on a journey as we meet various individuals, through a series of monologues and song, as they share what it like is to be poverty stricken and homeless in America. A culmination of a year long project full of research and interviews, we take an intimate look at the current socio-economic state of things and the price individuals pay for freedom.
This production was performed in St. Louis as a benefit for Peter and Paul Community Services; an “ecumenical human service agency committed to providing immediate and transitional housing and supportive services to the homeless, especially those experiencing mental illness, HIV/AIDS and drug and alcohol addiction.”
Concurrently, Whispers from the Streets was also adapted for radio and was produced by KKFI for 90.1 FM, and has been aired on numerous radio stations around the country including Oregon, Washington and Florida.
